To apply for a place in Kemal Gekić Summer School, please fill in the application form below
and submit it online. All applications must be submitted by May 15, 2017 (Application
Deadline). Application should be sent together with CV consisting of a list of recitals and
competitions attended by the applicant. Prof. Gekic will choose the participants who can
participate as active and those who can attend the masterclass as passive participants, as well
as those who will receive 3 lessons with him or will work both with him and prof. Fraser.
Applicant shall receive a confirmation within 7 days after the receipt of the application.
In addition to active participation, passive participation is generally possible.
Once you receive confirmation of your application and admittance to the master class, a deposit of 200 EUR is required to secure your place and this is a non-refundable deposit. You will be sent bank account information (overseas payments) upon confirmation. This needs to be sent within 2 weeks of confirmation with the note ”bank fee paid by the sender”; otherwise we will assume you are not able to attend. In the unlikely event of the Summer School being cancelled, your deposit will be refunded. In case the application deadline is changed by the organizer, the payments must be submitted by the new deadline. Deposit payments must be made in EUR.
Practice rooms will be available to participants free of charge, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. In case of an early arrival, it is possible to practice on August 7.
Participation in Piano 24, a part of Piano Loop Festival (August 16) is possible for all participants. Participation in the Universal Music Language concert is optional. It is recommended to play one composition of a Croatian composer and if participating in the Piano Loop Competition, it is advised to play "Nine Daniel's dreams" by Dubravko Detoni. Upon request, a pdf music sheet will be sent to the applicant.
The final concert of participants will be held on August 16 in Split and another one in the Franciscan monastery in Hvar on August 13. The Organizer reserves the right to change the location of the concert.
Participants are recommended by the professor.
The concert in Split will be followed by a closing party. A welcome drink and a sightseeing tour of the host town of Split is a part of the admission fee.
Piano Forum will be held by the professor, according to the schedule of topics chosen by masterclass attendants.
A recital organized by Piano Loop Festival (August 16) can be attended by the participants.
A planned one-day trip (including trip and accommodation) to the island of Hvar is also a part of the program.
All attendants should receive a DVD consisting of 3 recorded lessons with prof. Gekic.
Participation in Kemal Gekic Summer School includes accommodation during the summer school period (10 nights, August 6-15).
